At Kulbardi and the Bibbulmun Fund, we believe in creating opportunities that empower individuals to reach their full potential. As a gold partner of The Pinnacle Foundation, we are thrilled to celebrate the journey of Eve Walker, a dedicated and inspiring Gumbaynggirr-Yuin woman from Wollongong.
Eve, who recently completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, has been awarded The Bibbulmun Fund Scholarship for 2025. This scholarship marks her next step in academia as she embarks on an honours year at the University of Wollongong. Her ambition to become a clinical psychologist specialising in Indigenous youth mental health is a testament to her drive, resilience, and commitment to giving back to her community.
Eve's journey embodies the core values of The Pinnacle Foundation—empowering young individuals to overcome systemic barriers, embrace their unique identities, and create meaningful change—values that the Bibbulmun Fund and Kulbardi wholeheartedly support. She reflects on the support she’s received:
“The Pinnacle Foundation has been a major contributor to my success throughout my studies. This strong and empowering community has allowed me to continually grow and better myself, surrounded by others with similar stories. I am eternally grateful for the emotional and financial support I have received from the people at The Pinnacle Foundation and the generous scholarship provided. The support has not only alleviated financial burdens but also fostered a sense of belonging and motivation. I am inspired to give back to my community and contribute to the field of psychology, particularly in supporting Indigenous mental health. The journey ahead is exciting, and I am committed to making a positive impact.”
This year, The Pinnacle Foundation will again award over 100 scholars, providing not just financial aid but also invaluable mentoring and a robust network of support. Eve’s achievement highlights the transformative power of this partnership, a collaboration that unites the Bibbulmun Fund, Kulbardi, and the Fremantle Foundation in fostering leadership, inclusion, and academic excellence.
We are inspired by scholars like Eve, who exemplify the importance of education and community engagement in creating a more inclusive future. Together, we will continue to champion initiatives that open doors for young people, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement needed to thrive.
We would also like to congratulate past Bibbulmun Fund scholar Brayden Cockroft on completing his Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science. Brayden will continue his academic journey in 2025, undertaking a Masters of Secondary Education at Edith Cowan University. Passionate about sporting performance, human physiology, and mental health, Brayden aspires to inspire and educate the next generation. Reflecting on his time as a scholar, Brayden shared:
I would like to give a huge thank you to the Bibbulmun Fund and its CEO, Kim Collard, for this scholarship over the past few years. With your support I have been able to not only get to the point I have in completing my first degree but allowing me to excel throughout my degree. I hope to continue to represent you proudly into the future as I continue my study endeavours!
Brayden’s dedication to improving outcomes for students and creating inclusive educational spaces underscores the far-reaching impact of the Bibbulmun Fund’s support.
We are inspired by scholars like Eve and Brayden, who exemplify the importance of education and community engagement in creating a more inclusive future. Together, we will continue to champion initiatives that open doors for young people, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement needed to thrive.
We look forward to supporting Eve and Brayden as they pave the way for positive change, proving that when individuals are empowered, communities flourish. Congratulations to both of you—we are so proud of your journeys and can’t wait to see the incredible impacts you will make!
