The Bibbulmun Fund (BF) has been a proud contributor to the Fremantle Foundation's WA Relief & Recovery Fund (WARRF), which was established in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, WARRF has expanded its response to devastating natural disasters.

Along with significant gifts from the Paul Ramsay Foundation and other community donors, including the Bibbulmun Fund, the Fremantle Foundation has raised over $1.14m for the WARRF.

While most of the funds had already been dispersed before the 2023/2024 financial year, we are pleased to share that the small reserve of $150,000 has been distributed to four community projects based in Fitzroy Crossing.

As reported in the Fremantle Foundation's Annual Story 2023-2024, "This included the Yajilarra Festival, which was enjoyed by an enthusiastic crowd enjoying music, arts and culture, a much-needed reprieve from the devasting floods."

"Gurama Yani U, the Fitzroy Valley Men’s Shed, received funding support for their Indigenous Employment Support Initiative, providing pathways to sustainable employment and capability building."

"We again extended funding to Foundation for Indigenous for Sustainable Health to secure an operational vehicle to help deliver essential supplies to remote communities."

"The final group to receive funding was the Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre (MWRC). MWRC operate the much-loved community-based Marnin Studio. The studio is a therapeutic healing space for women to gather to create, learn and relax."

We are honoured to be a part of giving back through the Fremantle Foundation's WA Relief & Recovery Fund.
